Prayers for Peace and Protection in Israel

Here are a couple of great prayers I’ve found for Peace and Protection in Israel:

A Prayer for the People of Israel and Gaza (Catholic)

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God of Peace, we cry out to You amidst the turmoil engulfing in the Holy Land. Just as you stilled the storm at sea, we ask you now to bring stillness to the winds of war. With faith we pray, let there be peace in Israel and Gaza. We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

We mourn the dead and plead for the violence to cease. Let no more lives be lost on either side. Bring healing to the injured and free those held captive. Protect the innocent and powerless. We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

Provide comfort for those who grieve and are displaced. Reunite separated families. Give wisdom to leaders to find nonviolent solutions. Supply aid to rebuild and restore. We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for those assisting the injured and displaced, putting themselves in harm’s way as they perform works of mercy to those most directly impacted from this violence. May their love-in-action inspire reconciliation.  Make us all instruments of your peace. We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

May our Holy Mother Mary, the Queen of Peace, intercede for the land blessed by her earthly life. May her prayers for your children, Lord, help guide them to peace, harmony, and justice. We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus, we trust in your mercy. Still the storms within hearts to bring calm.  We lift our prayers to you, the Prince of Peace, who alone can grant lasting peace.

Amen.

A Prayer for God’s Protection for Israel

Gracious God, we come to you in the Name of Jesus and pray that You bring Your mighty hand of protection and peace upon the land of Israel. Your Word tells us that no weapon that is formed against You shall prosper (Isiah 54:17), so we cling to that truth. Just as You did after the destruction by the Babylonians, You declared a promise that no enemy will prevail and that vengeance is Yours alone. You remind us time and time again that You are sovereign, and Your ways are not our ways, but to place our trust in You. So, we submit our hearts to You, O Lord, and trust that You are with Your people, and You will lead, guide, and protect them.

We humbly ask that You provide a safe haven for all the women, children, and elderly who are in harm’s way, enduring dangerous and hostile situations. The enemy’s plan is to target those who are weak and unable to protect themselves. But You, God, are able! We trust that truth. While we know none of this takes You by surprise, and You hold the lives of each and every one of Your children in Your loving hands, our hearts ache for Your people, so reveal ways in which we can provide support to Your people and help carry their burdens.

We ask this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
